This is the 3rd book in the series, so it is difficult to not give away too many spoilers for those who have not read the other 2. Thomas escapes Magnus after  the Priests of the Holy Grail  take control of the castle through apparent acts of magic.  Gervaise and Thomas set out on a journey  to the ancient Holy Land.This journey brings Thomas through a time of testing his beliefs and confronting ancient powers that the Merlins and Druids have been searching for. All the while Thomas has to get  himself out of one mess after another while learning  inner discipline. This is an  engaging fantasy series, and will entertain many readers.

Last year, our family had an acquaintance brought back into our lives. After jail and rehab, we were so happy and amazed at all that was going on in his life. I requested this book to review to gain further insight and find ways to encourage the recovering. It is a wonderful book. Full of heart ache and redemption. I believe it will offer hope to those in recovery and to those who love an addict. Our story doesn't have the happy ending. The addict has to want life more than addiction. Heroin called our friend back into its prison. This book was really what I needed at the time. It did share hope and make me look at my own life, at ways that I may medicate my wounds, stress, and seek areas of control to compensate for a lack of control. Seth took a chance at sharing his vulnerable moments. In writing this book he embodied what Paul talks about in  2 Corinthians 1 v 3-8: 3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfor...

I received this audio copy of The Word of Promise® New Testament Audio Bible at Thanksgiving. In the midst of the usual holiday busyness, it provided a nice and calming back drop. I had already owned the audible version  of The Word of Promise Complete Audio Bible: NKJV. This made me familiar with the voices and the body of work. Thanksgiving week also brought a terrible accident and shooting in our community and involved a boy who had been in our youth group.  The boy had said he was afraid of dying. My husband was able to pray with him and remind him of the truths he knew.   We had gathered up the scents of Chirstmas in essential oils, being paralyzed there were not many other options for his enjoying the season,  and a cd player. The day we planned to pay another visit and bring these things, we received  the news that he passed away. Wouldn't my daughter love that? Turns out she was not fond of the girly Bible, but being the tie dye loving girl, she adored the rainbow pages of the NKJV Study Bible for Kids and its bright colours. Isn't that just how it should be? How often am I choosing what I like for her rather than what she would like? I love how we can be so alike and so different. PURPLE INK!  The page set up for the NKJV Study Bible for Kids took some getting used to. The references are not in the top corner, but on the outer edge of the page. As I read the forward to the book, I was excited for the dragster shout outs as the granddaughter of a dragster. (Shirley Muldowney! Whoot, whoot!) And then I was convicted AND encouraged by what he wrote about praising women when they are compared to men, and achieve manly things. Debbie Stoller, editor of the feminist magazine, Bust, wrote in her book Stitch and B*tch, something similar. How we praise women for being mechanics, pilots, and are employed in other typically "male" jobs, but we condemn them for doing the things their mothers and grandm...

Wow. This was quite an adventure.  What began as just reading a book evolved into reading the book aloud to my husband, who admittedly found it much more funny. This lead to him pulling up youtube videos and watching them with the boys. And that pretty much is the target audience of this book: Guys. I was not quite as amused by the story of his helpful wife while drivinh, my husband however was, and has repeated a few lines. (Do not ask what my reaction was) Very entertaining, the book has many of the comedy routines that you watch in Tim 's shows. If you can get the audio version, do it....especially if your own comedic timing in joke telling maybe a bit off. Watch the video: What is a Jackwagon ?
