Milwaukee Airport used books?

 Yes, right there in the airport is a used bookstore. 

You may be tempted to tell your airport pickup the flight is delayed so you can stay and browse the shelves.

I picked up a first edition on the Jews of Milwaukee and an oragami fairy tale kit for playing with the kinderlach.

Vacations are always better with books.

  NIV Study Bible, Fully Revised Edition, Comfort Print, hardcover (red letter) Way back when, just before my birthday, my friend and I went to the local bookstore (pre joshua’s, or life way...I can’t remember the new. It may have had something to do with grapes...). We bought matching 10 year anniversary NIV Study Bibles. We were at that age where we had matching plaid converse, matching journals with locks and keys...so of course we needed matching bibles! Honestly, I think I learned more out of that bible than any other. Reading the notes, following the verse reference chains, meant more to me than the “personal” or relatable stories the pastor may have shared. I can’t recall any of his sermons, but my notes and highlights stayed with me for 2 decades. (Up til the fire.) When I was given the opportunity by Bible Gateway to review the newest, updated and fully revised 35th Anniversary NIV Study Bible, the above memories came to mind. 2 years and then some....

One of my sweet daughters knew when she had her baby, that she was not the kind of mom who was gonna remember to take photos each month of her baby's life on the right day. She knew herself, her limitations, and her priorities, and went with it. So she would write "3 months and then some"  cuz it may be 2 days late or 7...and it was ok and she didn't  need that extra pressure to do the perfect social media photo shoot. She was too busy playing with her baby and living her life. So much wisdom in that.  I had wanted to write up a 2 years since the Paradise California Camp Fire post. This is where we are now kind of update however hit when my heart was still so broken. We were still homeless and living in a PARKING LOT. Our friends are still gone. Our businesses are still in ruins and having to close them down because we can't afford state fees so we can "try again next year". Dixie fire

The last week has been full.of many lessons. The Bible readings for our congregational read along were the book of Daniel. Since Paradise burned, the phrase "there's another in the fire" has taken on new meaning. He was there with us. Preserving us and saving lives. So many miracles happened, and almost everyone who talk to will tell you their miracle in their narrative. pge photo So about a week ago a new fire started, same area as the fire that took our town and home. This one acted more like a normal fire and had low wind. So it has stayed with us, slowly burning. Adding 2,500 acres a day....until recently when it made it into the canyons east of us. 20,000 acres a day.
